Artist Statement
Helen Vick creates free-motion embroidered textile works with repurposed and inherited fibres, thread, fabric and paint. Self-taught since 2021, she is guided by her love of gardens, folk art, the Arts and Crafts movement and Modernism, and her three-dimensional pieces include embroidered boxes, passementerie and quilts. Helen lives with her cat, Lilou, in East London.
