Beard

Artist Statement

Sylvia’s two pieces Beard and Hair are works created for a series on the theme of Concealed.

Working as a professional painter for over forty years Sylvia started creating textile art in 2013.

She had an exhibition of hangings and textile pictures as part of the Tokomachi Quilt Festival in Japan in 2015.

Sylvia was selected to show at the European Textile Network exhibition, in Haslach Austria in 2019.

She is a member of Art Textiles Made in Britain exhibiting with them at The Festival of Quilts and at various venues around the UK. In January 2020 the group exhibited at The Tokyo International Quilt Festival.
