Artist Statement

Sabina de Oliveira Lima is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist based in London. She is a hand embroiderer trained at the Royal School of Needlework, with a background in Architecture and Urban Planning. 

She strives to create bold hand-embroidered textile art that engages the observer. Led by design, organic and geometric patterns act as the driving force behind Sabina’s embroidery practice. Attention to detail, texture, craftsmanship and sustainability is very important to her design process.  

Sabina is always excited when she finds new methods from other disciplines that might be applied in her embroidery. In-depth research into a theme, alongside sketchbook work and hand embroidery sampling underpins all her collections.
