Artist Statement
Sarah is an illustrative artist drawing with fibres and works to combine traditional crafts with contemporary yarns. She creates evocative installations that stimulate conversation aimed to be viewed as a prolegomenon stimulating conversations and healthy debate around loss and bereavement, grief and life without loved ones.
The ‘3 Sisters’ was a large-scale installation capturing her insight and interpretation of emotional words collected from sisters after their COVID-19 affected year. Emotions became physical in 3D woven bubbles using transparent yarns, recycle plastic and fibres from their late fathers’ clothes.
Fragility becomes part of the ‘3 Sisters’ series of fibre-art installations, as her exploration with emotion and textiles evolves into art pieces.
P+P will be an additional cost to the price detailed for the art piece.
