Artist Statement

This piece was a result of a series of drawings exploring movement and dance. I was interested in exploring the gesture and the process of the figure in motion through space. I chose to develop it in stitching to explore how the three-dimensional quality of the stitch, its reflections and shadows, created an additional present-moment element which supported the limited colour palette.
