N is for Nest
Mixed fibres on silk organza
Dimensions: 66 x 66 cm
Inspired by the experiences of lockdown, the delicately suspended nest on silk organza, represents the fragile safety of home, a place of nurture, security and warmth, where we can baton down the hatches against the storms of the world. Jenny is endlessly inspired by the embroidered architecture of nests, built from the myriad flotsam and jetsam of the environment and stitched together with the love of the artist and the skill of the architect.
Applied antique papers, silk shading, shadow work, eyelets, crystals, beads, couched metals, hand-painting, hand-engraved glass.
