Artist Statement

Anne is a mixed media textile artist, author and tutor living and working in Kent. She was educated In Canada and granted two consecutive Greenshields Scholarships. Her richly layered and densely hand and machine embroidered works are reminiscent of tapestries. Her work is driven by narrative and more recently by issues of conservation and migration. She exhibits locally and internationally, often combining exhibitions with her tutoring. Her books record her project work and collaborations. Her recent solo exhibition at the prestigious Ruthin Crafts Centre in North Wales was well received. She is a member of the Crafts Council Directory, Embroiderers Guild UK, the European Textile Network and has work in the Diana Springall Collection.
