Artist Statement
Lucinda is a hedge stitcher. Inspired by her own dream work she seeks to give form to her own fantasies. She learned how to weald a needle like millennia of embroiderers- by watching her elder womenfolk closely and assuming their ways as her own. When she stitches she feels the soul work of all the ancestral women who brought her into being flowing through her hands. Embroidery is a deep magic and best performed in a meditative state- technical considerations are less important than intention and flow. Lucinda holds regular workshops near her home on the Kent coast to share her practise so that others may pass it on.
The price does not include a shipping/delivery fee and she encourages people who purchase work to collect it at the end of the exhibition.
