Artist Statement

Elizabeth graduated from the Royal School of Needlework with the Certificate in Technical Hand Embroidery in 2023 and, as an emerging artist, this is the first time she has participated in a professional exhibition.

Her piece, Wave, features the couching of metal threads and wires on fine linen fabric and the design was inspired by a then upcoming cruise holiday, and was begun in a well-lit area of the ship’s buffet!

Over the next few years, she plans to complete her RSN Diploma and develop a personal portfolio centred mostly around a blend of traditional and contemporary goldwork techniques.
