Artist Statement

Thérèse is a French artist living in the UK, with her ‘Franglais’ family.
She developed her skills in embroidery about 10 years ago, attending regular classes led by a fantastic RSN teacher. She loves this extremely versatile medium, which pushes the creativity boundaries throughout the process.

As an artist and ex scientist, she is fascinated by the beauty, complexity and fragility of all living creatures on our planet and the threat upon them. With her embroidery she tries to give them a voice and visibility, often with humour. We are being watched is an advocacy for the animals whose lives human behaviour is threatening.   It says: Our world is also their world and they are looking at us.
