Artist Statement

Vitya Selvam is a self-taught textile artist. She draws inspiration for her works from landscapes, florals and greenery. Her main focus is to capture the delicate details in nature through traditional hand embroidery techniques to create a realistic effect in her work. The idea of everything in nature is constantly changing and nothing is ever static gives her a sense of freedom as she creates which she truly enjoys. She aims to connect people with nature through her work.
