Artist Statement
A study of time marked by the changing moon by award-winning hand embroidery artist and tutor Kate Pankhurst FRSN. A supermoon appears 15% larger and 30% brighter than is usual, due to its closer proximity to the earth. The rare celestial event is depicted as magical realism, with the background Milky Way stars appearing to fall to earth.
Kate Pankhurst FRSN: First Prize winner of the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery 2021, finalist in 2023, winner of the GSWD Award for Best Use of Goldwork 2021.
